Depression
Most of us experience low mood/upset feelings during our life time. However, depression is a persistent feeling of sadness, emptiness, hopelessness and helplessness. If you suffer from depression you may experience a loss of interest in activities you used to enjoy, may have poor energy levels, have lost the ability to concentrate. You may experience a change in your sleep pattern and your appetite may have increased or decreased with significant weight gain or loss. You may experience yourself as worthless person and have feelings of anger, shame and/or guilt. In some circumstances you may even feel like is not worth living in which case it is important to talk to your GP immediately.
